Combine accounts
OpenApp keeps one person per login identity. Signing in with an identity provider and later with a phone code can create separate accounts. When a sign-in presents an identifier verified by the provider that is already on another OpenApp account, OpenApp creates a combine suggestion. It never combines the accounts silently.
Confirm a sign-in suggestion
Section titled “Confirm a sign-in suggestion”- Stay signed in to the account that presented the verified identifier.
- Open Settings → Profile or the Security page and select the pending suggestion.
- Review the identifier and the account data that will be combined. If both accounts have photos, choose which photo to keep.
- Confirm the combination.
The signed-in claimant does not have to sign in again through the other account’s older method. The verified provider identifier is the proof. OpenApp moves the other account’s access and memberships only after you confirm. The signed-in provider identity continues to work after the combine.
Combine from account security
Section titled “Combine from account security”You can also add the missing phone or email from Security. Enter the SMS or email code, review the pending suggestion, then choose Combine accounts. This path is for identifiers that were not already verified by the current identity provider.
After combining, you can sign in with the remaining verified email or phone methods. To drop one method later, see Sign-in methods.
If both accounts have a photo, pick which one to keep. Cancel leaves both accounts unchanged (you can start the code again).
A phone-only account that adds a Google email is combined into the Google account so that sign-in method keeps working. You can stay in the current session.
Building asked you to combine
Section titled “Building asked you to combine”If the building started this for you, you get email, SMS, or a dashboard banner, plus a link to Security. Sign in as one of the two accounts, prove the other phone or email, then combine. The building cannot finish the combine for you.
Privacy export
Section titled “Privacy export”An absorbed account is the same person. Data export follows
merged_into_user_id and lists the earlier user ids.
