Wi-Fi for doors without signal
Some doors sit where phones get no cellular signal, and a guest can’t open a door without a connection. If the site has Wi-Fi, you can share it on the invitation page. The guest connects, then opens the door.
Wi-Fi is a suggestion, not a requirement. The invitation page offers it, and the door opens the same way whether the guest uses it or not. A Wi-Fi network is also not a way to connect your doors to the internet.
Add a network
Section titled “Add a network”- Open Wi-Fi networks in the dashboard.
- Choose Add Wi-Fi network and enter the network name (SSID).
- Pick the security: Open, Password (WPA), or Enterprise (WPA). Enterprise networks take a username and a password.
- Pick the zones where the network is offered.
Optional: Notes (for example, “lobby only”), Priority (lower numbers are listed first), and Hidden network if the network doesn’t broadcast its name.
Adding, editing, deleting, and choosing zones needs permission to update zones. Everyone who can view zones sees the networks, without the password.
Choose zones
Section titled “Choose zones”A network can cover several zones, and a zone can have several networks. A door offers every network on its own zone and on any zone above it. A network on Building B covers every floor and room inside it. A door with no zone offers none.
You can also manage a zone’s networks from the zone’s page. It lists each network that covers the zone and marks the ones that come from a zone above.
See a site’s Wi-Fi
Section titled “See a site’s Wi-Fi”Open the site’s Zones & Wi-Fi page. It shows each zone that holds the site’s doors, the doors in it, and the networks that reach them, with via Building B on a network that comes from a zone above. Add, edit, or delete networks there the same way as under Wi-Fi networks. A new network starts with the site’s zones selected.
Doors with no zone are listed separately, because their invitations offer no Wi-Fi. Give them a zone to fix that.
What guests see
Section titled “What guests see”When an invitation includes a door whose zone has a network:
- The door shows a Wi-Fi available badge.
- A Wi-Fi section lists each network, ordered by priority, with the name, the password, and a Scan to join code. Open networks show no password.
The section only shows when the guest has access to the invitation’s details. An invitation that needs a PIN or a verified phone keeps the password behind it. Link previews and messages say at most that Wi-Fi is available, never the name or the password.
If a password can’t be loaded, the invitation page still opens. The network shows a note to ask the host, and the door opens as usual.
Change a password
Section titled “Change a password”Edit the network and enter the new password. Leave the field empty to keep the stored one. Invitations show the new password right away.
Passwords live in a secrets store, never in the main database. Deleting a network, or switching it to Open, removes its stored password.
